A lifelong songwriter blending country soul, spiritual insight, and personal storytelling into every note.

Andrea Randa – A Life in Song

From the moment she could speak, Andrea Randa was singing—whether solo or joined by anyone willing to harmonize. In first grade, her hand would shoot up whenever the teacher asked for a volunteer to sing. Early favorites like “By the Sea” and “The Rainbow Song” became part of her childhood soundtrack.

At age 12, Andrea received a Harmony guitar for her birthday, and that gift quickly became her sanctuary. Growing up in a New York City apartment with two younger brothers, she would escape to the bathroom—candle lit and guitar in hand—and play for hours. Music offered her therapy, peace, and a deeper understanding of life.

Her college years introduced her to opera, opening a new chapter in her musical journey. She performed with the country band “Bluewater” throughout NYC and New Jersey, but the smoky bar scene took a toll on her voice. Choosing to protect her instrument, she dedicated herself to opera for more than two decades. Andrea performed iconic roles such as Carmen, Amneris (Aida), and Azucena (Il Trovatore), gracing the stages of National Grand Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, New Rochelle Opera, and others. She also originated roles in contemporary operas, including The Mysteries of Eleusis by Joel Feigin and The Tempest by Lee Hoiby.

After raising two remarkable children and stepping away from the opera stage, Andrea found her way back to her singer-songwriter roots. Touring open mics with her children reignited her passion for folk and country music, inspiring her to write and perform her own songs once again.

That lifelong dream—to record an album of original songs—culminated in the release of My Country. Nearly 50 years in the making, the album pays tribute to early influences like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Neil Young, and Linda Ronstadt. The songs explore themes of love, freedom, fear, healing, and coming home. Though she was raised in Manhattan, Andrea’s soul was shaped by summers in rural Northeastern Pennsylvania, where working on farms and wandering the wilderness left an indelible mark.

Today, Andrea is also a member of Sylph Chamber Music, where she performs with flutist Nadine Scharman and pianist Ann Zalkind. Their repertoire spans classical, jazz, traditional, and contemporary genres—blending voice, instrumentation, and quartz crystal singing bowls to create elevated, meditative musical experiences. Andrea Randa – A Life in Healing

Beyond the stage, Andrea Randa has devoted decades to the healing arts—where music, mindfulness, and holistic wellness harmoniously converge.

Alongside her husband Neil, Andrea is the publisher of Creations Magazine, a beloved publication for conscious living and wellness. When the magazine faced closure over a decade ago, the couple—longtime devoted readers with no publishing experience—stepped in to preserve its mission. With guidance from the previous owners and a deep sense of purpose, they revived Creations, which has since continued to thrive and inspire.

Andrea’s personal wellness journey spans over four decades. She has practiced yoga for more than 46 years and taught in the Himalayan tradition for over 35. She became a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2002 and has been a second-degree Reiki practitioner since 1986. Her healing work also includes Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), sound healing using quartz crystal singing bowls and toning, and the therapeutic use of essential oils.

For nearly 30 years, Andrea and her family have embraced a vegan lifestyle—reflecting a deeper commitment to compassionate, conscious living.

Through song, sound, or stillness, Andrea creates space for peace, healing, and authentic connection. Her life’s work continues to be a reflection of that path—and a generous invitation for others to walk it with her.
