I have wanted to record an album of my songs from the time I was 12 years old. Now, almost 50 years later, it has happened! Although I grew up in Manhattan, I was blessed to spend my summers in rural Northeastern Pennsylvania, working on various family farms and spending lots of time in the wilderness. My early song heroes and heroines were Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and later Neil Young and Linda Ronstadt.

The songs on "My Country" are a mix of commentaries on relationships as well as on the state of our country and the world. "Hip Hip Hooray" is a celebration of freedom -- coming out the other side of a relationship gone bad. There was a certain sound in older country music. I tried to manifest that in "Old Timey Blues." "He's Gonna Leave Her," the most rock inspired tune on the album, is about waking up to a relationship that will never be. There are good sides and bad sides to "Stories" -- we need to write new ones to capture the times we are living in and let go of the old stories that keep us stuck. Fear is the opposite of Love. "When Fear Gets Too Big" describes what can happen in relationship when the heart closes. In "That's Just Not Me" we have a situation where one partner is moving forward and embracing change, while the other remains stuck in ways of being that are not healthy or happy. We all experience the pull of wanting to go home. What may have been our physical home, a place of warmth and comfort, may no longer exist. "Union City Train: Going Home" excitedly describes a place we are all going to arrive at eventually -- Union City being the unity of all hearts.

The recently released “My Country” is my first EP of original country tunes, which can be found on all music platforms or click on the album cover above to purchase a CD.

I am extremely happy to be able to share this music with you!

Peace & Blessings,

Andrea
